Symbiotic Relationships

What are the mechanisms that regulate the coexistence of plant and animal beings? What are the dynamics of interaction between these two worlds? The ecosystems that surround human life develop through laws that determine the survival of the species that populate the planet. It is interesting to observe these two macro-categories as universes that meet and collide in a dance of perfect balances.

This reflection gave rise to the Symbiotic Relationships project, which aims, with an almost scientific look, to extrapolate and emphasise the shapes and colours that characterise the interaction between plants and animals. Subtle sculptures that relate to each other, that move together to create aesthetic forms, archetypes that confront each other in a balance of forces. Each of the elements, as in nature, cannot separate its existence from the other and it is in this symbiotic relationship that reality manifests itself. The group of sculptures are made of iron rod, a material that is subsequently subjected to the process of electrostatic flocking, which gives the surface a velvety coating, thus completing the sensory experience that the sculptural element offers. The sculptures with their aggressive lines are thus docile and soft to the touch, a combination that betrays sight in favour of a different understanding.
